"GMS Journal for Medical Education" accepted for the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of the Web of Science

The GMS team is pleased to announce that "GMS Journal for Medical Education" has recently been accepted for coverage in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), a new resource from Thomson Reuters.

The journal is thus part of the Core Collection of the Web of Science. The ESCI includes high-quality, peer-reviewed publications of regional importance and in emerging scientific fields after an initial editorial evaluation. This decision is based on the publication standards, the content and citation frequency of the journal. The journals in the ESCI do not yet have an impact factor, but are considered for inclusion in the Science Citation Index, which is used to calculate the Journal Impact Factor.

"GMS Journal for Medical Education" publishes scientific articles on all aspects of undergraduate and graduate education in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and other health professions. The inclusion of "GMS Journal for Medical Education" in the Core Collection of the Web of Science underlines its relevance as an attractive scientific forum for medical education and strengthens the international visibility and reputation of the journal.
