Special issue "The use of social media and Web 2.0 in (animal/dental) health education and training" of "GMS Zeitschrift für Medizinische Ausbildung" published
The use of social networks like Facebook, Xing or linked.in and other social media (e.g., blogs, wikis, micro-blogging) increased during the last years and now almost dominates the Internet. Much of the meaning and risks of this use is discussed as well as the requirements in terms of information and media literacy. Even in the medical fields exists already a variety of operational scenarios. With a special issue of the GMS Journal of Medical Education we wanted to deal with these new media and offer the possibility to learn about the results of educational research on this, read project descriptions or discuss position papers (even in the GMA Facebook section).
