Call for Papers on Web 2.0 for GMS Zeitschrift für Medizinische Ausbildung

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts for a special issue on "The use of social media and Web 2.0 in (animal / dental) health education and training" for GMS Zeitschrift für Medizinische Ausbildung.

For quite some time now, social networks like Facebook, Xing or linked.in, along with other social media (e.g. blogs, wikis, micro-blogging), are increasingly used and meanwhile almost dominate the Internet. A big discussion is going on about the meaning and risks of the use of these tools as well as about requirements in terms of information and media literacy. In the medical field, different use scenarios are already in place. By means of a special issue, the editors of GMS Zeitschrift für Medizinische Ausbildung want to address this development. They thus offer the possibility to publish results of educational research, position papers or project descriptions in this special field. Interested authors are invited to submit their manuscripts on this topic until May 31, 2012 to GMS Journal of Medical Education. All submitted manuscripts are subject to peer review. The special issue is scheduled as issue 5, 2012 to be published online on November 15, 2012.
