New Journal: GMS German Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery

On December 14th, 2011, "GMS German Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery – Burn and Hand Surgery" went online.

As the official journal of the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (DGPRÄC) and the German Society of Burn Surgery (DGV), it publishes current clinical and experimental research results from the whole field of plastic surgery. After peer review, articles are published in both English and German. They are citeable and permanently available free of charge (open access).

"With our journal, we aim to cover the whole spectrum of Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic, Hand and Burn Surgery, thus fostering an open international scientific exchange", says Editor-in-Chief Peter M. Vogt, President of DGPRÄC and Head of the Department of Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery of the Hanover Medical School, Germany. Through open access, the journal will enable "both colleagues and interested patients to obtain information about modern treatment options easily and for free".

GMS Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery invites authors to submit their work for peer review.
