27th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Phoniatrics & Pedaudiology online
The 27th Scientific Annual Meeting of the German Society of Phoniatrics & Pedaudiology takes place from September 17 to 19, 2010 in Aachen.
Concerning the main topic „Functional Imaging of Voice and Speech“ neuronal correlates of the gender specifity of communication, of sensomotoricity of speech, of spasmodic dysphonia, processing of speech and music, and of auditory processing disorders are presented.
Further articles point out proposals how to optimise universal newborn hearing screening, the diagnostic procedure concerning hearing impairment in infancy, and adequate hearing system supply.
Findings resulting from the functional anatomy of the vocal apparatus, modelling vocal cord configuration, objective analyses of voice disorders, and new developments in therapy concern the topic voice.
Objective analyses of speech disorders in children with orofacial cleft genesis, studies concerning speech development, deglutition, and rehabilitation of patients who stutter or are aphasic, complete the thematic diversity.
