Introduction: Obstruction in the nasal passages has been shown to affect the mechanics of breathing. It follows that pulmonary function may be related to the nose, and that the function of the nose is not that of a mere conduit for the lower respiratory tract. In a small series of patients with nasal obstruction, we found a decreased lung compliance and increased pulmonary resistance when measured during mouth respiration as well as through the nose. The basis of this relationship has not been established.
Aproach: To determine the patology of nasal obstruction and stage of obstruction. To determine the corelation between nasal and the bronchial obstruction.
Methods: We identified patients with sing of upper airway obstruction exatly nasal obstruction treat in occupational institute. The medical chart of patient werw reviewed for presenting symptoms, initial diagnosis examination, past history and treatment
Dg methods: History review and physical examination, nasolaringoscopy flexibile, bodypletismography, radiography AP and laterale, Rtg paranasal sinus et epifaringoscopy profile.
Conclusion: Based on the acquired parameters, we have encountered a correlation of nasal obstructions with bronchial obstructions especially on the pathologies with allergic character that correspond with naso-bronchial Syndrome, but with no significant percentage of the pulmonary obstruction manifestation although we have selected nasal obstructions cases with no or little air flow.
