Snoring is a common complaint in the adult population. Numerous types of treatment are offered pretending to effectively relieve from snoring. Few of them have been evaluated according to the standards of evidence-based medicine so far.

The available data concerning behavioral, conservative, medical and surgical therapies for sleep disordered breathing is analysed and a recommendation is given according to their achieved level of evidence.

Further research with high-quality studies is needed in order to improve the care for our patients with sleep disordered breathing.
