EVI.CT.SE is a network of European Ophthalmological Clinical Research Sites, dedicated to perform clinical research in ophthalmology with the highest standards of quality, following the European and International Directives for clinical trial research. All Clinical Research Sites must be certified by independent auditors according to EVI.CT.SE Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and main requirements of the Network.

The main objectives of EVI.CT.SE are: (1) Performance of state-of-the-art multicenter clinical trials in ophthalmology in Europe; (2) Guarantee of a high level of quality and excellence in the work performed by the member Centres; (3) Guarantee of uniform levels of performance and maintenance of qualified personnel; (4) Guarantee of good levels of recruitment of patients in the different scientific areas of Ophthalmology.

The fulfilment of these objectives will naturally make EVI.CT.SE an useful resource to science and also to industry. This Network of Clinical Trial Centres in Ophthalmology is expected to become an important partner in the process of drug development in Europe.
