Figure 1: Kaplan-Meier plots comparing overall survival of patients after resection for biliary tract cancers. In panel “a” it is demonstrated that patients with cancer in their final resection margin had a significantly worse overall survival compared to patients with no cancer at margin (R0 vs. R1; P<0.001). Neither presence nor absence (BilIIN pos. vs. neg.; P=0.6) nor grade of BilIN at margin (BilIN1/2 vs. BilIN3; p=0.25) had a significant impact on survival (panels “b” and “c”).
