Figure 1: A course on general internal examination (“General physical Examination”) and a problembased-learning (PBL) seminar on the subject of “Acute abdominal Pain” take place prior to the start of the actual clinical traineeship. The subsequent examination courses build on the “General physical Examination” course and look at specific organs and structures in more detail. The PBL seminars focus on initial and differential diagnoses based on clinical case studies.
