Figure 1: Differences between required competencies at the day-to-day work and competencies taught in dental school. This figure illustrates a subtraction of the both ratings, how far those competencies were required in day-to-day work and how well those were taught in a CBL-based curriculum. Negative mean differences indicate a deficit in the teaching of competencies as compared to job requirements; positive mean differences indicate a surplus. The competencies were sort from top to the bottom by their relevance at day-to-day work of dentists. Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient was applied for statistically significant comparisons between both ratings. NS denotes no significant difference, * differences with p-values < 0.05 and ** differences with p-values < 0.001.
