Figure 1: 45 year old female with a three months history of focal seizures in the left leg. A: T1 weighted Gadolinium enhanced MR image with 3D and basic spatial orientations according to its appearance on the navigation monitor is shown. B: Corresponding [ 18 F]-2-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography image with similar reconstruction sections are given. The imaging data visualizes a decreased glucose metabolism in the anterior part of the tumor with typical hypointense T1 signal while a focally increased glucose uptake at the posterior part of the lesion can be seen, with lack of contrast enhancement. In this patient glucose uptake correlated with focal transformation towards anaplasia.
