The imaging data visualizes a decreased glucose metabolism in the anterior part of the tumor with typical hypointense T1 signal while a focally increased glucose uptake at the posterior part of the lesion can be seen, with lack of contrast enhancement. In this patient glucose uptake correlated with focal transformation towards anaplasia.
