Objective: Since beginning of the nineties middle ear implants of titanium in the reconstructive middle ear surgery are used increasingly. By a growing compulsion for savings considerations with the application and storage of cost-intensive materials in clinical life are must go.

Possibilities of other cost reduction are indicated with the results in the everyday life in operation theatre.

Material and methods: In the period from 2004 to 2005 33 titan’s middle ear implants were used by 85 carried out ear operations (38.9 %). On the basis of cost analyses it is shown that in particular with application of variably produceable implants costly camp posture of different prosthesis dimensions is no more contemporary.

Results: In spite of different qualities and often to comparable post surgical results under use of the different prosthesis (bone, gold, plastic, ceramics, titan) asserted himself the titan's prosthesis during the last 10 years. The production of different lengths of different types of prosthesis with only two construction modules is just in times of serious savings a good alternative. This is demonstrated with the help of the carried out implantations.

Summary: The light weight titan's prosthesis have asserted themselves in last decade. By the introduction of the production of prosthesis of the most different length with one module is a successful innovation. The application is easy, the prosthesis function well and furthermore savings are to be achieved in the clinic everyday life by her application.
