Introduction: The Human voice, language and speech are factors that have been influenced the differentiation and anthropological evolution of our society. The fonatory system in the human person have followed the phylogenetic evolution associated to the nervous capacity of the cortical centers of the speech. It was mandatory for the best vocal emission the integrity of the anatomical substrate with the influence of the neural and respitatory control. There are many ways of performing this function that can be modified and built with the best results and less effort. The occupational use of the voice need preventive care and need control of the environmental factors and work organization.With this point of view, this is a prospective study with the next purposes:

1.
Determination of the prevalence of the disease in this population
2.
Controlling the application of vocal hygienic measures
3.
Early detection of functional and organic disease of vocal cords
4.
Determination of environmental factors that are noxious to the voice emission
5.
Definition of a new healthy politic with measure for the protection of occupational voice disease.

Methodology: Subjects for the present study is the population of universities professors of the north Zone of São Paulo city. The number of persons is nearby 2000. To this population, we have applied a questionary about the symptons of the vocal disease and the organization of the work.Ergonomics facts was also verified.

Results: The symptoms of the syndromic dysphony was reduced of 43 %. With this method we have detected also that the alcohol ingestion had increased significantily and a specific program with this main is proposed for the government.

Conclusion: Therapeutics measure with respiratory training and hydratation had a significant influence of the controll of the population that use the voice with occupational purposes.
