The Linneaus project is an international collaboration set up in 2009 with a grant from the EU Framework 7 programme to develop a network of practitioners and researchers to improve patient safety in primary care.
Our understanding of issues related to patient safety in primary care suggests that the challenges for improving patient safety in this setting are significant. Most medications continue to be prescribed, dispensed and administered in primary care, yet we have little information on the adverse effects of drugs in this setting.
This presentation will consider the epidemiology of adverse drug reactions in primary care and consider interventions that have been identified from the latest research evidence that may help in improving safety.
